About Me

Dr. Shari's Story

Hello and welcome! 

My name is Dr. Shari Samson MD.  I offer meditation instruction, health coaching, and retreat offerings as a Certified Chopra Instructor in ayurveda, meditation and I am a 225 hour RYT yoga instructor. I am a medical doctor who has been practicing anesthesiology for 22 years. I still do! However, I have this passion for really helping people transform through meditation and wellness. But a wonderful series of events unfolding out of multiple difficult life challenges led my science nerd mind and natural curiosity into a deep dive to answer the big questions that have been debated for all of humanity's existence. Why are we here? Is there life after death? Do we come back after we die? Can we really tap into yogic powers as thousands have claimed in books and in scriptures from all religions.  This quest for the answers really began as a teenager and after completing college and medical school and residency, "real life" put my curiosities on hold for a while to attend to these real life obligations. What happened next was a growing pile of stress and resentment, and eventually after leaving a painful marriage of 20 years, I needed to finally get answers to those pressing questions. What was my part in all this, and how can I turn to my innate abilities to start creating the change I so desperately longed for? As well, I went through some physical challenges after a serious car accident that resulted in partial paralysis. I HAD to learn how to speed my healing not only for myself, but i just KNEW that my patients had much more control than they realized in their own healing, which they rarely, if ever, exemplified.  My experience with patients and families and life and death facing me every single day, were enough to show me, that yes, there is more to life than what meets the eye. I witnessed many miracles in the OR and in life, and started to manifest them at will. The tale of my life eventually leads to a weeklong meditation retreat, multiple synchronicities and shortly thereafter, getting certified in Primordial Sound Meditation from the Chopra Center. The RESULTS of the newfound daily meditation practice I undertook, right before the dreaded "pandemic" of 2020 were nothing short of a miracle. In Primordial Sound Meditation Course (PSM), I teach you how to begin a regular meditation practice, with ease and grace, that fits into all busy lives.

 After certifying in PSM,  I went on to become a Chopra Certified Health Coach, which enables me to teach to others the fundamentals of the ancient  'science of Life', Ayurveda. In this course, I help  people learn how to become their own Guru, by tapping into their innate awareness of their own body's needs, that will lead to lead a life full of joy and harmony, through connecting with one's Higher self as well as  to the rhythms of Nature; to use wholesome nutrition that is individualized for you along with, yoga, meditation and  daily practices as a whole  Prescription for your Lifestyle Practice. This allows one to find the peace, joy, and vitality that we all seek, but that really has always resided within you. Yes, you. 

A lifetime of science combined with a personal lifelong thirst for the knowledge of humans ability to heal ourselves has led to a marriage or intergration if you will of these practices. Modern day science has been delving deep in the wisdom of the ancients. The discoveries of today are proving what has been  known throughout the ages. Now, you, too, can tap into your super powers and "Be the Change" you Seek. It is right inside of you. I know, I am living proof. Allow me guide you to your own True Self. 


How Meditation Can Help You

 Have you been told  meditation will help you, but have struggled to sit for 5 min? Do you know that a change needs to take place  in you life but don't know where to begin? Are you feeling more stressed out than ever due to this Global Pandemic? The most immediate changes often noticed are a better nights sleep, and our more calm response to others and situations around us rather than  reacting in agitated, frustrated, impatient and sometimes angry ways.

 What soon follows with  a regular practice, often within about a week, is lower blood pressure, more energy, clearer mind, more creativity, ideas flow, strengthened immunity, better managed blood glucose, loss of agitation and, less anxiety, and with continued practice, one will notice synchronicities begin to  occur with higher frequency. This is the magical part that gets many excited and encourages us to dive even deeper!

How Ayurveda can Help You

 Mediation is only one Pillar of Ayurveda. As a lifestyle, Ayurveda consists of 6 pillars; They are, Nutrition, Meditation, Movement or yoga, Emotional healing, Daily practices, and Flowing with Circadian rhythms of nature. One learns to identify with his or her individual energy type, both in body and in personality. Once you know your specific energy type, or Dosha, you can begin to design your daily prescription for health! It is not only easy but fun when you get going. Soon enough, you find that you naturally gravitate towards things which our body needs for optimum health, and find that you are averse to habits that are harming us. Pounds shed, and your sleep becomes deeply restorative.  Your relationships improve both at home and at work, and you find that your doctor may eventually lower the doses of some of your medications, as your blood sugars and lipid profiles improves.
